WWE Predictions: Elimination Chamber

The Elimination Chamber match has turned into a yearly tradition like the Royal Rumble & Survivor Series matches. Since its inception in November of 2002. It is advertised as one of the most grueling and painful matches a WWE Superstar could possibly endure. With over 2 tons of steel, the chamber is rigged to give new and innovative ways to inflict pain on your opponent. The success of this match with the fans allowed for the match to get it's own annual PPV every February. Here are my predictions for 2019's Elimination Chamber PPV.

Kickoff Match: Cruiserweight Title Match

Buddy Murphy (Champion) Vs. Akira Tozawa

Prediction: Murphy defeats Tozawa

205 Live has been making a small resurgence as of late. With Mustafa Ali making the leap to Smackdown Live, more eyes seem to be tuned into the exciting Cruiserweight division. The Champion, Buddy Murphy, seems to be "The Guy" on 205 Live and would be very surprised if he loses this match.

No DQ match:

Braun Strowman Vs. Barin Corbin

Prediction: Strowman defeats Corbin

Brawn Strowman's recent run has been mildly disappointing as of late. From getting screwed by Baron Corbin against Brock Lesner at the Crown Jewel PPV to being plagued by recent injuries, Strowman's sense of popularity seems to be slightly fading. I predict this match to be a glorified squash match between Strowman and Corbin so the WWE can start focusing on a new and refreshing storyline for Strowman on the road to Wrestlemania.

Intercontinental Title Match:

Bobby Lashley (c) Vs. Finn Balor

Prediction: Balor defeats Lashley

I could see this match going one of two ways. The first potential ending would be for Finn Balor to cleanly beat Bobby Lashley. The other would be for Lashley's manager, Lio Rush, to get involved and get Lashley disqualify , thus keeping the belt until Wrestlemania where Balor would get his rematch and win the belt at "The Grandest Stage of Them All."

Smackdown Tag Team Titles Match:

Shane McMahon & The Miz (c) Vs. The Usos

Prediction: McMahon & Miz defeat The Usos

Being an Usos fan, it pains me to say they'll be used to put over The Miz and McMahon as seemingly legitimate tag team champions. However, I feel this new alliance between "The Best Tag Team In the World" will be short lived. I predict The Miz to turn on McMahon after losing the titles at Wrestlemania.

Raw Women's Championship Match:

Rhonda Rousey (c) Vs. Ruby Riott

Prediction: Rousey defeats Riott

This is the most obvious prediction of the entire PPV. With WWE teasing who Rousey will face at Wrestlemania, her losing the belt would make absolutely no sense. Expect a quick match and a triple threat between Rousey, Charlotte & Becky Lynch at Wreslemania.

Elimination Chamber Match for the 1st Ever Women's Tag Team Titles:

Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. The IIconics vs. Nia Jax & Tamina vs. Carmella & Naomi vs. Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan vs. Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose

Prediction: Sasha Banks & Bayley win the titles

This match is probably the least predictable out off all the matches on the card. A lot of recent teams have been formed to give the new women's tag team division some depth. I decided to go with Banks & Bayley because they have the most legitimacy as a tag team and as singles competitors.

Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship:

"The New" Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton vs. Samoa Joe

Prediction: "The New" Daniel Bryan retains the title

I have a great feeling that this match will be a highly entertaining contest. I predict Kofi Kingston to steal the show with his performance like he did during the gauntlet match last Tuesday on Smackdown Live. However, Daniel Bryan is most likely to retain his title, being that he recently remodeled the title into an "eco-friendly" championship and the fact that Wrestlemania is right around the corner. I wouldn't be surprised if AJ Styles won back the title as another option.

You can watch the Elimination Chamber on the WWE Network at 7pm East, 4pm Pacific time. The PPV is free for new subscribers so sign up today!
